History of "Aigul Line" Company

Birth of "Aigul Line" was not the beginning but the result of long and laborious work, begun in 2002 to revive the ancient Kazakh Crafts - felting .

In 2001, along with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Kazakhstan with the support of the Government of Switzerland (SDC) has launched a program of the Mountain Partnership Central Asia (CAMP). The programme was initiated various projects for the development of rural areas. Aigul Zhanserikova initiated revival of felting in Kazakhstan.

To implement the project to revive felting since 2002 were invited masters of felt from Austria and Germany, which held a series of regional training sessions for women in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

In 2004, Aigul organized the first national training specifically for Kazakhstan women. In the same year opened the Kazakhstan's first workshop for making handmade felt products named "ak_kiiz". Over the next few years on the basis of this workshop has trained more than 250 women from different regions of Kazakhstan. However, felting remained for many in the hobby level.

During an internship in 2009 in Germany, Aigul Zhanserikova visited many workshops and studied from German felt masters how they organizing their activities. Seeing that the traditional Kazakh Crafts provides them a stable source of income, not just the field of creativity, she decides certainly introduce their successful experience in Kazakhstan.

By the time her more than 7 years experience of work on the revival of felting also made itself felt. There are appeared many partners, colleagues , loyal customers. So in 2011 there was a small company "Aigul Line", the title of which gave themselves customers and partners.

Now "Aigul Line" - a well-known brand, which implies high quality and uniqueness of the products, it is a friendly team , led by an energetic and creative Aigul Zhanserikova, it’s our customers and partners, and we all have the love to the beautiful traditional material - felt.
